Work Experience

CASS Worldwide – Field Support Manager
February 2022 – Present
Birmingham, UK

I support my team in the field to ensure that PONs are delivered with top quality to the customer in a timely manner. This also includes jumping in and helping out in a range of situations, including test rodding and roping, cabling, splicing, testing of completed networks, quality checking and re-surveying of jobs should the need arise. I am also our departments unofficial IT guy, and I regularly fix technological issues, both in the office and in the field.

I liase with customers, including Openreach and Telent, to come up with solutions to unexpected problems on the network.

I am familiar with the use of ORION and SOLO. I also meet with customers on the regular in order to address concerns and to update on the progress of our builds. I am also well-versed with the use of DepotNet and iAuditor.

I regularly carry out audits, both from a Health and Safety perspective and a Maintenance perspective. This can be from checking for correct procedure, equipment, tools, PPE and vehicles. I then produce detailed reports that can be sent to the relevant departments, with recommendations based on my findings.

I am currently our department’s Health and Safety representative, and attend regular meetings of the Health and Safety committee in order to raise concerns, and help others to come up with solutions to their H&S related issues.

CASS Worldwide – N23 Internal Auditor
October 2021 – February 2022
Birmingham, UK

I was in charge of auditing the finished builds once the PONs have been completed. I liaised with the customer to gain feedback on the builds and also meet with the gangs that built the PONs in order to advise on any quality issues.
I also audited the vehicles within the company using the in-house auditing mobile application.

CASS Worldwide – Fibre Optic Splicer
April 2021 – October 2021
Birmingham, UK

I worked in the field using Fusion Splicers to efficiently connect new build PONs. I also tested the quality of the splicing using combinations of OTH and Toggle Test applications.

Environmental Pest Control – Operations Manager
April 2018 – April 2021
Birmingham, UK

I was responsible for the development and implementation of company processes and procedures. In particular with regard to changes in legislation and codes of best practice that are constantly changing. An example of this would be GDPR Compliance.

As part of this role I researched the provision of new IT systems, specifically with regard to job allocation software and invoicing solutions. After researching, I successfully implemented a software solution along with new hardware, and provided training in its use to all employees.

The role also requires me to be the point of contact for contracted customers 24/7 all year round. I ensure that all service calls are allocated and satisfactorily completed within specified time limits.

I held responsibility for vehicles, plant and machinery maintenance and also managed stock control and the provision of equipment and materials.

I’ve achieved our company’s retention of CEPA certified EN16636 (European Accreditation) status by preparation and management of the audit process.

Environmental Pest Control – Senior Pest Control Technician
January 2016 – April 2018
Birmingham, UK

As part of this role, I provided additional support to technicians with regard to more complex tasks such as insect identification.

I also provided initial surveys and quotations for new business opportunities. This required me to produce risk assessments, method statements, COSHH assessments and environmental impact assessments as required.

I developed and presented learning material for customers particularly in the hotel and hospitality sector to recognise the early signs of pest infestations. In addition, I attended industry meetings and events and cascaded developments and news to other staff members.

During this period I helped the business win the Sutton Coldfield Trade Business of the Year 2016/2017 award.

Environmental Pest Control – Pest Control Operative
February 2014 – January 2016
Birmingham, UK

In this role, I provided technical inspections to both domestic and commercial premises in order to eradicate and prevent pest control issues. I provided comprehensive written reports and management plans to utilise integrated pest management techniques.

As the role often involved entering people’s homes as well as schools, nursing homes and places where vulnerable people were, I obtained an enhanced DBS Certificate.

As a technician, part of my job entailed making sure that all customers were completely satisfied with the works provided and all aspects of the treatments were fully explained.

Interestingly, I also provided wildlife control services to protect livestock and reduce the economic impact in the agricultural sector. During this period I also obtained both firearms and shotgun certificates as part of that work. I learned some land management techniques and used these to reduce harbourage and to enable environmental adaptations to encourage the use of non-toxic control.

During winter periods I helped to provide gritting and snow clearances using a variety of 4×4 vehicles, quad bikes, snow ploughs, snow blowers and other machinery as this was an additional service provided by our company. I also undertook a driving course in off road techniques and defensive driving.

Wright Restaurants Limited (McDonald’s) – Crew Trainer
August 2011 – January 2015
Birmingham, UK

At McDonald’s, I worked both preparing and serving food in a fast-paced kitchen environment. I also worked closely with management to handle training.

This included developing training schedules for individuals and ensuring that new employees were trained to a high standard. This included ongoing training delivered to current employees.

I ensured food preparation areas were of a clean standard in line with the current health and safety advice.

I also worked outdoors when required to take deliveries of both perishable and non-perishable foodstuffs. This often included redirection of traffic to allow the HGV to park safely.

Working outdoors also required me to maintain a safe environment for both employees and members of the public, gritting car parks, picking up litter and reporting any potential health and safety hazards.

Richer Sounds – Stock Controller
March 2009 – September 2011
Lichfield, UK

I was in charge of stock control for a busy audiovisual store. My main responsibility was the control of all incoming and outgoing stock within the store databases. I also took any deliveries, checked them for accuracy and stored the items in the correct bays.

My stocks were kept tidy and free of any trip hazards. I often assisted in cleaning the store when required to.

It was also a customer-facing role. I helped customers handle heavy loads and assisted in loading vehicles when required.
